Laminitis - Clogs
The first two photos are of laminitic horses with clogs screwed or glued on. The third picture is a prolapsed coffin bone with an abscess. A clog was screwed on with impression material applied first.laminitis - rails & tendonodomy
These photos are of a laminitic horse with a contracted superfelxor tendon. A sled shoe was used to treat this condition.
The left photo is a tendonodomy with a rail shoe and a heel elevation extension. The last photo shows an EDSS system on a laminitic horse.Heel angles
To change to heel and PA angel of the hoof a Heel Bulb Cast was applied. The first picture is before, picture 2 is preparation, the third picture is the cast and then the new angel after picture. The angle will increase 5 to 7 degrees after treatment which takes 14 days. This treatment was the brainchild of Dr. James Dorenkamp, of Desert Pines Equine Center, Las Vegas, NV.
Severed tendons
These were laserated super and deep tendons supported by a custom made brace. This device is also used in cases with a broken sesmoid.
This was on a horse with a lacerated tendon.
rockers
Rockers are used to elevate heels and improve sole depth.abscesses
This horse had an abscess that caused him to lose almost half of the coffin bone. A Z-bar and D-bar combination shoe with impression material and a hospital plate was used on this horse.foal corrections
Lateral and toe extensions (IBEX system) were glued on to help straighten this foals legs.
